Serum rum heads to Switzerland
By Rupert HohwielerPanamanian rum brand Serum has arrived in Switzerland thanks to a partnership with drinks distributor Paul Ullrich.

The rum will be available to buy in Paul Ullrich stores, as well in speciality shops, bars and restaurants around the country.
Paul Ullrich’s CEO, Urs Ullrich, commented: “We recently selected unique rums for our portfolio, and among many other samples, Serum won for its unique and delicate taste.
“Combined with great design, we believe these are bottles that will sell well and will surely find many admirers.”
The brand has greatly increased its international reach this year – also getting releases in Austria, Belgium, Canada and the US.
The rum is made from sugarcane grown in Panama’s Herrera province and aged in American white oak barrels, with a flavour profile of wood, vanilla and fruits.
It has seven expressions in its portfolio, consisting of two infused rums, two pure rums and three vintage limited edition rums. All are presented in custom-made bottles.
“We are very happy that we are successfully introducing Serum constantly to new markets,” said Serum export manager Stepan Stanek.
“We are now excited to make Serum available in Switzerland in partnership with Paul Ullrich – one of the largest and best-known distributors in the country. We firmly believe that the smooth and sipping Serum rums will find many fans in Switzerland as well.”
In March, the brand unveiled The Panama Seasons Collection, which featured two rums aged for 17 years that would show the effect the country’s climate has on the liquid.
