Serum rum enters Canada
By Rupert HohwielerPanamanian rum brand Serum has arrived in Canada, thanks to a partnership with beverage importer Enoteca Bacco.

Already available in the US and 25 European markets – including Belgium and Austria – the rum can now be found in British Columbia and Alberta, as part of British Columbia Liquor Stores Premium Spirits Release 2023.
Stepan Stanek, Serum’s export manager, said: ‘‘We are very proud that we can launch our unique rum also in Canada thanks to our new partner Enoteca Bacco and continue healthy growth of the Serum brand.”
Made from sugarcane grown in the Herrera Province of Panama and aged in American oak, the rum is presented in custom-made bottles and sits between 35-45% ABV.
It’s described as smooth with notes of wood, vanilla and fruits.
“We discovered the Serum rum, with its unique, great packaging, and are excited to showcase this excellent sipping rum to our market,” added Natino Bellantoni, president of Enoteca Bacco.
“It has great drinkability on its own and we can say that it’s the ‘Cognac of rums’. Delicious.”
Serum currently has seven expressions in its range, comprising two infused rums, two pure rums and three limited edition rums.
In March, the brand released its Sérum Mamie bottling, a blend of Panamanian dark aged rums with cocoa, vanilla and toffee.
In September, stablemate Mintis Gin secured listings in a number of major retail chains in Croatia through Valentic Drinks.
The two brands were also showcased at Bar Convent Berlin last month.
