Teeling launches single malt whiskey in the US

The Teeling Whiskey Company is expanding its presence overseas with the launch of its no-age-statement single malt Irish whiskey in the US.

Teeling Single Malt Irish Whiskey is now available in the US

The Irish whiskey producer first unveiled its single malt variant in October last year, completing its core range of NAS expressions.

Teeling Single Malt consists of malt whiskey aged up to 23 years old that has been matured in five different wine casks including Sherry, Port, Madeira, white Burgundy and Cabernet Sauvignon, and has been non-chill-filtered.

The group claims the combination of casks creates a “vibrant and balanced” flavour of dried fruit, citrus, vanilla, spice and cloves.

“We are delighted to be able to release another expression of Teeling whiskey that helps expand consumer choice and challenge existing perceptions of Irish whiskey,” said Jack Teeling, founder of the Teeling Whiskey Company.

“Our new Teeling Single Malt proves Irish whiskey can have big bold flavours that appeal to Single Malt drinkers without losing its distinctive Irish identity.”

The Teeling premium range also includes Small Batch Blended Irish Whiskey and Single Grain Irish Whiskey, which was launched in the US in February this year.

In January 2015, the group signed a US distribution deal with Infinium Spirits.

Teeling officially opened the doors of its new €10 million Irish whiskey distillery in Dublin this summer, marking the first time an Irish whiskey distillery had been built in the city in 125 years.

As such the current range of Teeling whiskeys are created using third party-sourced liquid.
