Rums of Puerto Rico to host Miami event
By Lauren BowesThe Puerto Rico government’s Rums of Puerto Rico division will present ‘A Taste of Rums and Good Vibes’ at Kaona Room, Miami Beach, next month.

On Saturday 8 November, a group will gather to celebrate Puerto Rico’s rum heritage through cocktails, culture, and craftsmanship.
The event is the fourth time the national rum festival of Puerto Rico, Taste of Rum, has gone on tour, with previous events in Texas and California.
The Kaona Room is a tiki bar founded by Daniele Dalla Pola and now managed by his son, Billy Dalla Pola.
The evening will begin at 5.30pm with a masterclass led by event organiser Federico José Hernández. Hernández is also the author of Puerto Rico’s ‘first’ rum-related book, Rum-Clopedia.
The masterclass will cover Puerto Rico’s rum legacy, distillation techniques, and signature flavour profiles.
The session is limited to 25 guests and priced at US$10.
A cocktail hour will follow between 6.15pm and 7pm, before two further sessions.
At 9pm, Ramón Díaz will host ‘La Casita de Rones de Puerto Rico’, followed by Juan Lastra at 11pm, presenting ‘Cocktail & Bites’.
‘A Taste of Rums and Good Vibes’ coincides with the Miami Rum Renaissance Festival weekend. Rums of Puerto Rico will also showcase a selection of its premium rum portfolio at the festival’s exhibition area on Sunday.
