Desi Daru eyes growth in South Asia and Middle East
By Miona MadsenBritish-Indian vodka brand Desi Daru has partnered with Dhall Food and Beverages to make its debut in South Asia and the Middle East.

Desi Daru is set to debut outside the UK market as part of the brand’s ambitious global expansion plan this year.
In partnership with Dhall Foods and Beverages, an Indian importer and distributor of premium spirits, the brand will expand its presence across key markets, including India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Pakistan.
Since its launch in 2022, Desi Daru has gained recognition for its The Original English winter wheat vodka and Alphonso Mango Vodka, made with Indian Ratnagiri mangoes.
Under the new agreement, Dhall Foods and Beverages will manage the distribution of Desi Daru’s vodkas across the South Asian and Middle Eastern markets.
Mohit Singh, founder of Desi Daru, shared his excitement: “Our brand focuses on the collision of two cultures – Britain and India. We use the best ingredients from both countries to create a truly special product, and as British-born Indians, we couldn’t be more excited to expand into these countries.
“We worked with Matt Ashton-Melia from Charter Brands through their incubator programme, and he introduced us to Dhall Foods and Beverages. They are a company with decades of experience and deep-rooted expertise in premium spirits distribution.”
Singh continued: “India and the surrounding markets hold huge potential for us, and given the region’s growing appreciation for high-quality spirits, there’s no better time to launch here.”

Dhall Foods and Beverages has been supplying premium international brands to India’s retail, travel, and hospitality sectors for more than 50 years.
Arjun Dhall, executive director of Dhall Foods and Beverages, commented: “Desi Daru is a true game changer in the industry. Their Mango Vodka is pushing boundaries in the flavoured spirit category and proving that you can produce a great-tasting and premium product.
“They have created an incredible product merging British craftsmanship and an Indian heritage. Their vodkas are a perfect fit in our portfolio, and we are proud to be bringing them to consumers across India, UAE, Sri Lanka, and beyond.”
In the UK, Desi Daru’s success has been led by listings with Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Master of Malt, and Amathus Drinks since its launch.
The brand has also been featured in high-end London bars and restaurants, including Benares and The May Fair.
Last month, Desi Daru appointed Amit Nakrani as its new strategic operations and technology partner.
