The meeting, which is said to celebrate the transformative impact of women in the rum industry, will explore ‘the art, technique and feminine magic in rum.’

The event will take place on Saturday 1 February, at 12.55pm at the Miami Beach Convention Center as part of The Rum Lab’s Miami Rum Congress 2025.

Women Leading Rum is recognised for giving visibility and opportunities to women in the industry.

According to Larissa Arjona, president of Women Leading Rum, ‘Notes of Elegance’ is not just a tasting or a technical seminar; it is a space designed to highlight how women lead innovation in rum creation, promotion and education.

Arjona stated: “From the definition of organoleptic profiles to the design of experiences that connect the consumer with the essence of this drink, the talk highlights the talent and female vision at each stage of the process.”

The talk will be moderated by Mercedes Sánchez from Ron de Guatemala, who will joined on the stage by Susana Masis, master blender of Ron Centenario, Magda López, master blender of Ron Botran, and Susana Ortega, brand ambassador of Ron Brugal.

During the experience, the attendees will be able to ask the speakers questions regarding rum and the impact of their work on the category.

Arjona continued: “In addition, attendees will have the privilege of participating in a guided tasting where the unique notes of the creations of these master rum makers will be revealed, a true immersion in the art of rum.”

Miami Rum Congress 2025 will take place from 31 January to 2 February, and will offer more than 40 premium brands and 200 unique rum expressions for guests to discover.

The Rum Lab is an organiser of rum festivals and conferences, which has been hosting events in the US and Puerto Rico for the last 15 years.

Last month, the platform revealed its 2025 events schedule.
