Shanky’s Whip arrives on cruise ships
Biggar and Leith-owned Shanky’s Whip has secured listings with cruise retailer Harding Retail, which will see it available in the store onboard six P&O ships.
The Irish whiskey liqueur brand’s one-litre bottles will be available at the cruise retailer, across the six ships, and will be supported by a three-month promotional programme that features a dedicated sampling areas and hosted tastings.
In addition to the branding areas and tasting sessions, visitors will also receive complimentary ostrich toys (one of the brand’s protagonists) and branded tote bags with every purchase.
Founder of Shanky’s Whip, Elwyn Gladstone, said: “2024 is set to be a big year for the brand, and we’re thrilled to partner with Harding Retail to expand Shanky’s Whip’s retail footprint and take us to the seas.
“With our sights set on getting liquid on lips and educating consumers on the drink’s unique flavour profile, we’ll be supporting the listing with eye-catching branded displays, tasting sessions and fantastic POS in a bid to capture the attention of travellers.”
P&O, a fleet of British cruise ships, depart from the UK to popular European holiday destinations such as Scandinavia and the Mediterranean.
Shanky’s Whip can also be found Ex-US Carnival Cruises and concessions of Heinemann’s duty-free shops.
The brand has significantly invested in its growing its global presence in 2024, through activations with Costco, expansion to the Asian market and launching a TV advertising campaign.
Bottled at 33% ABV, Shanky’s Whip is available in GTR in one-litre bottles and retails for £34.95 (US$44).
