Cotswolds adds to Hearts and Crafts range

English spirits producer the Cotswolds Distillery has released the fifth expression in its Hearts and Crafts series, which is a single malt aged in Pineau des Charentes casks.

The expression is the fifth in the brand’s Hearts and Crafts range

Pineau des Charentes is a fortified wine from western France.

The bottle’s packaging features designs inspired by textile designer William Morris, a pioneer of the Arts and Crafts movement. Morris often spent his summers in the Cotswolds at Kelmscott Manor.

Just 1,500 bottles of the new expression are available.

On the nose, the whisky is ‘rich and sweet’ with ‘fresh stone fruit’, followed by ‘summer berries, almond and woody spice’ on the palate. Its finish is ‘fruity, with a slight wood tannin and hint of spice’.

Bottled at 55% ABV, the single malt retails for £100 (US$125) for a 700ml bottle. It is available to purchase exclusively from the Cotswolds Distillery’s website and three shops.

Last year the Cotswolds Distillery debuted its first whisky advertising campaign as part of its goal to strengthen its status as England’s leading whisky producer.

The company, which is the largest whisky maker in England, was also one of our world whisky brands to watch in 2024.
