A single cask Ardnamurchan is the 24th limited release from London-based independent bottler The Heart Cut.

The Heart Cut’s latest bottling was distilled at Ardnamurchan on Scotland’s West Coast, aged entirely in a Pedro Ximénez Sherry cask, and bottled at 52% ABV.

Described as moderately peated, the barley used to make the whisky was peated to a phenol level of 30ppm. Tasting notes for the whisky include gentle smoke, citrus, apricots, olive brine, and coastal salinity.

Georgie Bell, co-founder of The Heart Cut, said: “Ardnamurchan is part of a new wave of Scottish distilleries choosing flavour over yield. In its short life, it’s built the kind of cult following most distilleries take decades to grow – known above all for an oiliness of texture that’s highly sought after and adored.

“We’ve wanted to collaborate since we launched The Heart Cut, so it’s a big day to see it here and out in the world.”

Limited to 543 bottles, #24 Ardnamurchan is available in a 500ml format from The Heart Cut at an RRP of £76 (US$100).

It is also available at selected on-trade locations including Hideout in Bath, Spirited in Bristol, and The Spirits Room by Caviste in Hampshire.

Ardnamurchan Distillery was founded in 2014 on its namesake peninsula by Scottish independent bottler Adelphi Distillery Ltd and launched its first single malt in 2020.

The distillery is notable for running almost exclusively on renewable energy sources, including hydroelectric, solar, and biomass.

Since launching in 2024, The Heart Cut has bottled single cask whiskies from small producers around the world, as well as an ongoing English blended malt whisky.

Co-founders Bell and Fabrizio Leoni select casks directly from distilleries rather than from brokers.

This bottling is only the third Scotch whisky The Heart Cut has chosen to bottle, following expressions from Nc’nean and Lochlea distilleries.
