Mataroa claims to be the number-one-selling Greek premium gin brand in Greece

Onesti Group is said to be one of Italy’s largest alcohol distributors and Mataroa hopes the partnership will make its products easier to access for Italian spirits lovers.

Nopi Romanidou, marketing director and co-owner of Mataroa, commented: “We are really excited that the products of the Mataroa family will now be represented by a company that understands the quality of our brand.

“We have no doubt that Mataroa products will take the place they deserve in the Italian market, enabling as many Italian consumers as possible to enjoy them.”

Launched in 2019, the brand uses 12 botanicals, herbs and spices to make its gin – which they claim is the number-one-selling Greek premium gin brand in Greece.

This year, it has teamed up with Greek bartenders to create a variety of signature cocktails, including Popi Sevastou (bar manager at restaurant and bar group Nolanverse); Tito Karipidis (bar manager at Mple Papagalos); and Konstantinos Theodorakopoulos (co-owner of Athens’ The Bar in Front of the Bar).

The latter featured in the top 10 marketing moves in September.

Available in 17 countries, the brand is looking to build its global presence. More details about the brand can be discovered online at mataroagin.com.
