Anora appoints chief growth officer
Nordic spirits producer Anora has appointed Lars Egedal as its chief growth officer (CGO) and member of the executive management team.
Egedal will assume the role on 1 January 2023.
Egedal joined Anora as the CFO for Globus Wine, the leading wine company in Denmark, which Anora acquired in July 2022.
Prior to Globus Wine, Egedal held multiple leading positions within finance and mergers and acquisitions (M&As). Throughout his career, Egedal has gained strong experience of the consumer goods business in the Nordic and Baltic countries.
Anora CEO Pekka Tennilä commented: “I am very excited to welcome Lars to Anora’s executive management team. Lars has a strong track record in building a sustainable and growing business at Globus Wine, and he has also vast experience in the execution of ambitious growth strategies and M&As.
“We have a strong ambition to grow both in the Nordics as well as internationally, and M&As will play an important role on this journey. We want to be the leading Nordic wine and spirits group delivering growth through sustainability. Following the acquisition of Globus Wine, we are a stronger producer of sustainable wine in the Nordics.”
Egedal added: “I am very honoured and very excited about my new role as Anora’s CGO. I look forward to joining the executive management team and supporting the board of directors, the executive management team and all the fantastic people at Anora in implementing the newly announced growth strategy as well as in managing future M&A processes. Our clear target is to drive profitable growth as well as long term shareholder value.”
Altia and Arcus merged to form Anora Group in September 2021.
This autumn, Anora Group established its own distribution arm in Denmark, ending its ties with Conaxess Trade Beverages.
