Warming cocktails to try this autumn

As the seasons change, so do the world’s cocktail menus. With so many new drinks to try this autumn, SB has rounded up the latest serves worth warming your autumn evenings over.

London bar Lyaness launched its latest ingredient-led menu this month

When it comes to top-notch drinking options, imbibers are spoilt for choice, and keeping up with the newest cocktail creations can seem like an impossible task.

Autumn saw a menu of Game of Thrones-inspired cocktails launch, as well as new drinks lists from high profile venues such as London bar Lyaness, Nutmeg & Clove in Singapore and Amsterdam’s Pulitzer’s Bar.

From autumnal drinks served up at an Arizona tiki bar to eco-minded spritzes at the first permanent bar from waste-reducing pop-up Trash Tiki, SB has rounded up some of the best new concoctions that are worth tasting as you shelter during the long autumn nights.

Jack the Ripper

Amsterdam cocktail bar Flying Dutchmen Cocktails updated its menu in September, adding the Jack the Ripper to its selection of drinks that highlight the evolution of classic cocktails.

Exploring the evolution of Dutch genever in cocktails, the Jack the Ripper combines Bobby’s Genever, Dolin dry vermouth and Grand Marnier.

Bishops Sacrifice

Toronto bar Supernova Ballroom opened its doors last month, serving waste-conscious cocktails mixed up by Iain Griffiths and Kelsey Ramage of pop-up Trash Tiki.

The first permanent bar from Griffiths and Ramage, Supernova Ballroom serves a menu of eco-minded fizzes, spritzes and sparkling drinks, including the Bishops Sacrifice, which is made with wild bergamot and lavender whey syrup, Novo Fogo cachaça, lemon and soda.

The Aristocrat

London venue The Churchill Bar & Terrace has unveiled its latest seasonal menu, which is said to feature drinks inspired by the “different facets of Winston Churchill”.

On the menu, drinkers will find a selection of cocktails influenced by British food duos, including The Aristocrat, which is made with Havana Club 3 Year Old, fortified butter syrup and Champagne.

Pagan Daiquiri

Phoenix tiki bar Hula’s has launched a menu of autumnal serves, adding a seasonal twist to classic tiki cocktails.

The tiki speakeasy has mixed up twisted Pina Coladas and Zombies, as well as the Pagan Daiquiri, which is made with Bulleit Bourbon, OFTD Plantation Rum, lime juice and agave.

Love Hangover

For drinkers blessed with sunnier climes in the southern hemisphere, head to newly-opened Sydney drinking den Prince of York to sample its seasonally-inspired menu.

The Australian bar’s first menu features this fruity concoction, the Love Hangover – made with Four Pillars Gin, blood orange, raspberry-infused Campari and citrus.

Golden South Sea Pearl Diver

London bar Lyaness unveiled its second ingredient-focused cocktail menu this week, adding four new creations to the bespoke ingredients it uses in its drinks.

Guests at the bar on London’s Southbank can now sample cocktails made with Peach Emoji, Vegan Honey, Lyaness Tea-mooth and Golden Levain, including the Golden South Sea Pearl Diver – made with Bombay Sapphire, Bacardi Cuatro, Golden Levain, beurre noisette and strawberry.
