Rémy man joins William Grant travel retail ranks
By Becky PaskinWilliam Grant & Sons has appointed Rémy Cointreau’s spirits CEO as its new managing director of global travel retail.
Justin Weston joins William Grant from Rémy CointreauJustin Weston previously held the position of managing director and CEO of Rémy’s global spirits and liqueurs division, but will join William Grant in his new capacity on 1 April.
Based in Singapore to take advantage of the “rapidly growing” Asian and Middle East travel retail markets, Weston will report directly to William Grant chief marketing officer Maurice Doyle.
He replaces Rita Greenwood, who left her position to become managing director for developed European markets.
“Justin is a proven leader in global premium spirits,” said Doyle. “I am very confident that Justin will help us deliver our ambitious goals for our brands in the channel and will build on the excellent work done by his predecessor Rita Greenwood. As a company, we remain fully committed to global travel retail as a strategic priority for our business.”
Weston added: “The travel retail channel has huge potential with many travellers still not visiting the shops. It will be our mission to deliver rich brand experiences and to create theatre to draw passengers into the stores and so deliver growth for us and our retail partners.”
William Grant recently rolled out the new Glenfiddich Cask Collection to global travel retail, a launch the group described as “the most innovative” of the year.
