William Grant’s travel retail director moves on
William Grant’s Rita Greenwood, currently managing director of global travel retail, will be moving onto a newly created role in the company come the New Year.
Rita Greenwood will move from William Grant’s travel retail business to a domestic European position
Greenwood, who joined William Grant’s GTR division in 2008, will become the new managing director for developed European markets in early 2014.
The newly-created role forms part of William Grant’s focus on developing its footprint in Western, Southern and Northern Europe.
Greenwood will remain in her current role in GTR until a replacement is found.
“The business will continue to report as an integrated global business unit into the chief marketing officer, Maurice Doyle, given its strategic importance as a premium shop window and I am sure that the team will continue to move from strength to strength,” she said.
Greenwood has been described as being “instrumental” in the rejuvenation of William Grant’s travel retail business.
“I would like to personally thank Rita for her outstanding leadership of the William Grant & Sons Global Travel Retail team,” said Doyle. “She had led a step-change in brand and financial performance and has developed a very strong team. She has laid a great foundation for a new managing director to build on.
“We remain fully committed to global travel retail as a channel. It has become an integral part of our business and we have ambitious growth plans for the future,” he added.
