Cointreau launches canned Cocktail Twists
By Miona MadsenOrange liqueur brand Cointreau is entering the canned ready-to-drink (RTD) market with the Cocktail Twists range, debuting with The Original Margarita and The Passionfruit Margarita.

Cointreau Cocktail Twists come in a 125ml slimline format with an ABV of 12.5%.
The cans are made from entirely recyclable materials, while the drinks contain no artificial colours or flavours.
The recipes were developed by Carole Quinton, Cointreau’s master distiller, in Cointreau’s distillery in Angers, France.
The Original Margarita combines Cointreau L’Unique orange liqueur, Tequila, lime peel distillate, and lime juice concentrate. The Passionfruit Margarita blends the orange liqueur and Tequila with lime juice from concentrate and natural passion fruit flavour.
Both RTDs can be sipped chilled straight from the can or poured over ice.
Quinton commented: “In creating these RTD cocktails, I got to blend my distilling expertise with the craft of mixology. As a creator of experiences, I wanted each recipe to deliver the perfect balance, preserving the spirit of Cointreau while elevating every sip.
“It was about finding the right assembly of ingredients to achieve that harmony between the liqueur and its ingredients. The result is two new Margaritas that are bold, fresh, and uncompromising in quality.”
The canned RTDs follow the launch of a bottled cocktail range in September 2024. Cointreau also released a bottled Citrus Spritz earlier this year.
OnePoll recently conducted a survey on behalf of Rémy Cointreau in August 2025, which revealed that UK consumers intend to enhance their holiday drinking habits this year. More than half of those surveyed (59%) plan to enjoy more cocktails at home during the festive season than at any other time of year.
Furthermore, the survey data revealed a trend toward classic cocktails, with nearly half (41%) of respondents expressing a preference for classic drinks like Margaritas and Espresso Martinis. In contrast, just under a quarter (23%) chose festive cocktails.
Clémence Gallet, executive director of Cointreau, said: “Our RTD cocktail range, now enhanced with new flavours on our classic Margarita and available in a can, is a premium expression of this consumption habit. It is designed to invite cocktail lovers to savour Cointreau at any cocktail occasion, in an elevated and convenient way.”
Cointreau Cocktail Twists can be purchased at Waitrose stores or online for an RRP of £4 (US$5.30) each.
The launch continues Cointreau’s MargaRight initiative, which highlights the three key ingredients for a perfect serve: Cointreau, Tequila, and lime.
Earlier this year, Cointreau invited consumers to rethink their holiday traditions with its new festive campaign, Make Your Eggnog a Margarita, starring The White Lotus actor Aubrey Plaza.
