Bushmills 12YO replaces 10YO in UK
By Miona MadsenFollowing its debut in 2022, Bushmills has brought its core 12-year-old Irish single malt to the UK, which will replace its 10-year-old whiskey.

Bushmills 12-year-old single malt was added to the brand’s core range three years ago. While the expression has already been available in markets across America and Asia, this September marks the single malt’s UK debut.
The 12-year-old will replace the brand’s 10-year-old on the UK market as an introductory Bushmills single malt.
The triple-distilled whiskey was aged in Bourbon barrels and oloroso Sherry butts, and finished in Masala wine casks from Sicily.
Offered at 40% ABV, Bushmills 12-year-old displays aromas of dried fruits, spices, and candied apple, followed on the palate by notes of honey, spiced fruit, caramelised brown sugar, and nutty malt.
Alex Thomas, master blender of Bushmills, said the 12-year age statement is a “sweet spot for whiskey – it has enough time to develop rich, layered flavours, while still retaining a vibrant, approachable character”.
She continued: “Our triple distillation process adds an extra layer of smoothness and refinement, making each sip exceptionally clean and rounded. That’s why it’s a favourite for experienced whiskey drinkers and an inviting first step for those discovering single malts.
“Taking the place of our 10-year-old as the new introductory single malt to our range, it’s the perfect initial experience of the character and craft of Bushmills.”
Bushmills 12-year-old single malt will be available nationwide in the UK from September 2025, including at Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Morrisons, Amazon, and specialist retailers. It retails at £42 (US$57) for a 700ml bottle.
Earlier this year, the brand added four expressions to its limited Private Reserve series, and released an 18-year-old Port cask-finished single malt, exclusively available in Asia Pacific travel retail.
In March 2025, the Proximo Spirits-owned distillery unveiled the world’s oldest Irish single malt whiskey to date: 46 Year Old ‘Secrets of the River Bush’.
