Rosebank Distillery creates Tamdhu experience

Ian Macleod Distillers has launched a new Tamdhu residency visitor experience at the Rosebank Distillery in Falkirk.

The new Rosebank experience brings Ian Macleod’s Speyside single malt Tamdhu to its sister distillery, which reopened its doors to visitors on 7 June 2024.

Tamdhu Distillery is usually closed to visitors except during the Spirit of Speyside Whisky festival when the doors are opened for its hugely popular Malt Master event.

The experience called The Residency: Tamdhu, brings the distillery’s Sherry cask-matured whiskies to Rosebank’s Academy Room.

Offering a deep dive into the Speyside single malt’s flavours, the experience will include nosing and tasting four single casks chosen by Tamdhu’s distillery manager, Sandy McIntyre.

The casks are said to demonstrate the impact of oloroso Sherry wood on the maturing whisky and the diversity from one cask to the next.

Participants will also be invited to create their own one-of-one expression of Tamdhu using whisky from the four casks.

McIntyre said: “We’re offering a unique insight into whisky production and the opportunity to create your own one-of-one. For me, it’s about knowing that Tamdhu is in safe hands. The experience at Rosebank is absolutely fantastic.”

Running daily, The Residency: Tamdhu is now available to book for £110 (US$142) per person on Rosebank Distillery’s website.

Last month, Rosebank appointed Neil Bulloch as its new distillery manager.

Ian Macleod Distillers owns three operational distilleries in Scotland. In addition to Rosebank and Tamdhu, the company operates the Glengoyne Distillery and is building the Laggan Bay Distillery on Islay.
