Confectionary company Smith & Sinclair has claimed to have created the world’s first alcoholic cocktail-flavoured pastillesSmith & Sinclair has today lauched its six-strong range of alcoholic pastilles in Harvey Nichols, debuting flavours including: Gin and Tonic, made with violet-infused gin and lemon sherbet coating; Mixed Berry Daiquiri, with summer barriers, dark rum and pink perppercorn-infused coating; and Whisky Sour, with a sour grapefruit coating.
Other cocktail flavours in the collection include the Spiced Rum, Spring Clean and Cake Icing. Each handmade pastille is crated using fresh fruit, real spices and a choice of either whisky, rum or gin.
Smith & Sinclair said the launch marks the first time a food product will be sold on an alcohol shelf and that consuming a whole box would exceed the recommended driving limits at 2.6 alcohol units for all six.
Smith & Sinclair’s Cocktail Pastilles are now available from UK retailer Harvey Nichols at an RRP of £8.95 for a box of six.
