Scotch joins wellington boots in best of Britain list

Scotch whisky has been named as one of the defining features of Great BritainEnlisting the help of famous faces such as Jools Holland, John Major and Princess Anne, Country Life magazine recently released its ‘Best of Britain’ list.
Scotch whisky was identified as one such feature and joined other food and drinks items such as Stilton cheese, apples and HP Sauce.
Other things that have been identified as the best of Britain include bluebells, Stonehenge, lawns, The Ritz, afternoon tea, gentlemen’s clubs and children’s books.
The importance of Scotch whisky to the UK was solidified in another recent survey which named Diageo’s Johnnie Walker as one of one of the most valuable UK brands, beating the likes of British Airways, Land Rover and Burberry.
With regards to England in particular, it was Plymouth gin that was ranked as one of the greatest icons of Britain recently, joining James Bond, sandwiches and Shakespeare.
