An entrepreneur and a New York Times best-selling author, Weaver has been the driving force behind the fastest-growing American whiskey brand in the US, Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey.

“I have very low tolerance for low efficiency. I am an incredibly efficient person and that has everything to do with the fact that I am purpose driven. And that’s what wakes me up in the morning, that’s what gets me out of bed,” Weaver explains about her work ethic during the episode.

As a best-selling author, Weaver is understandably passionate about storytelling – and believes this is what makes American whiskey a compelling category.

“What I love is the stories behind the brands,” Weaver explains. “Now, the brand has to be really good. I’m not one of those people that because it’s a great story, I’m going to drink garbage, that I will not do. But the marrying of a great story and a great product, I just love it because you’re sitting there, and you’re sipping on it, but it creates a natural conversation.”

More recently, Weaver combined her writing with whiskey as she penned her latest book, Love & Whiskey. In a unique way, Weaver intertwines the stories of Jack Daniel, the man who taught him how to distil – Nathan ‘Nearest’ Green – along with her own personal journey that led to the Uncle Nearest brand.

Raw and candid, Weaver is open about struggles and hard decisions she had to make in her teenage years, from leaving home at 15, living in homeless shelters, to then discovering the world of PR – and her capability to thrive in the sector – to the life-changing moment when she first read about the untold history of Nearest Green, by chance, in a New York Times article.

As she explains in further detail in the podcast, Weaver is committed to ensuring the world knows about the man who was Nathan ‘Nearest’ Green, to guarantee his legacy lasts for generations to come – alongside the eponymous whiskey brand, which has quickly garnered global acclaim.
