Be Inclusive Hospitality: advancing racial equity
By Melita KielyHow to find purpose in your work, the importance of racial equity and thoughts on cancel culture are all up for discussion in this week’s podcast episode with Lorraine Copes, founder of Be Inclusive Hospitality.

Multi-award-winning social entrepreneur Lorraine Copes founded Be Inclusive Hospitality four years ago at the height of the pandemic. Its aim is to advance racial quality across the hospitality, food and drink industries.
From her time working across the drinks industry supply chain, Copes explains how she has noticed a constant underrepresentation of people of colour across the sector. But how can the industry work to improve this?
Copes said: “I just think the education piece, it should be prioritised by all as a first step, it really should.
“Unless you really understand the ‘why’, why we’re here, here and now, it’s really difficult to address how we move forward from here. And it just can never be about optics because that will not serve anyone.”
Copes also shares her thoughts on cancel culture and how to find purpose in your work.
Episode five of The Spirits Business Podcast is available to listen to on all major streaming platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Amazon.
