The Spirits Business Podcast officially launches
Actors Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, co-founders of Brother’s Bond Bourbon, are the stars of the first episode of The Spirits Business Podcast.
Launched today (26 June), The Spirits Business Podcast is hosted by Melita Kiely, editor of The Spirits Business magazine, and aims to create interesting, in-depth conversations with leading professionals across the spirits and hospitality industries.
The first episode explores Somerhalder and Wesley’s journey into the whiskey industry, from filming The Vampire Diaries TV show to bottling their first Bourbon.
“This is now the culmination of years of patience, years of investment, and it’s now paying off. But, to go through what we’ve been through, it’s difficult for a lot of small whiskey brands [who] don’t typically make it,” noted Somerhalder during the episode. “They don’t realise whiskey is a very capital-intensive business and it takes a lot of time.”
The conversation with Somerhalder and Wesley also covers their new releases – with a particular focus on the recently launched Brother’s Bond Regenerative Grain Bourbon, inspired by the pair’s passion for sustainability and how it can be used to enhance flavour.
“We strive day in and day out with a tiny team with an enormous amount of experience to make something that is beyond special,” Somerhalder said.
