Following ‘successful’ launches in the US, China, Canada, Dubai and the UK, B Corp-certified 818 Tequila has now debuted in Australia.

“We’re thrilled to be launching 818 Tequila in Australia,” said Tanya Mah, head of marketing at Amber Beverage Australia.

“The demand for Tequila has been rapidly increasing and shows no signs of slowing. Kendall Jenner and the 818 team are incredible brand partners and have created a brand that drives category excitement and can recruit new drinkers into agave.”

Mia Lloyd, general manager of customer loyalty at Coles Liquor, added: “Our customers have been asking us for 818 Tequila, and now the wait is finally over. We’re thrilled to welcome 818 Tequila to our Liquorland and First Choice Liquor Market shelves and are proud to be the exclusive retailer for what is going to be the drink of the summer.”

The brand hopes to emulate the success it has seen across its other territory launches.

In the first seven months of business in the US, the company reported sales of 136,000 cases, and in March this year, it saw sales rise 150% above predicted levels within 12 days of launching in the UK.

In January, 818 Tequila president and chief operating officer Mike Novy told The Spirits Business that while the US market had “the lion’s share” of its sales, markets outside of North America were becoming key to the brand’s success, with China being “a really meaningful market”.

In July, Jenner and her mother Kris starred in a campaign for the brand, which aimed to highlight the versatility of the spirit for National Tequila Day (24 July). In the campaign, The Kardashians stars demonstrated how to make a Cosmopolitan, Tom Collins, and Old Fashioned cocktail using Tequila.
