Four Kavalan whiskies will be rolled out to the Swedish market

The move to Sweden reflects the brand’s growth in international markets, according to Kavalan.

Kavalan CEO YT Lee said: “We are seeing strong demand for Kavalan in markets such as France and the UK, and we look forward to building on that growth in Sweden with the help of Symposion, which is family-run like Kavalan itself.

“We believe Swedish drinkers will like the four award-winning expressions in stores from this month: Distillery Select No. 1, Triple Sherry Cask, Podium and Solist Vinho Barrique.”

Distillery Select No. 1 is aged in refill casks at the distillery in Yilan, Taiwan, creating a whisky with notes of “soft toffee and lively fruits”, and clocks in at 40% ABV.

Meanwhile, also clocking in at 40% ABV, the Triple Sherry Cask is described as a ‘rare’ combination of oloroso, Pedro Ximénez (PX) and Moscatel-aged casks with Kavalan’s ‘velvety texture and signature sweetness’.

The Podium Single Malt Whisky rests at a higher ABV of 46%, and the Solist Vinho Barrique Single Cask Strength Single Malt is presented at a strength varying between 50-59.9% ABV.

In November last year, the Taiwanese producer released a Solist whisky matured in a French red wine cask exclusively through its boutiques. The 57.1% ABV expression has notes of pomegranate, soft honey, and deep tannins on the nose, alongside sweet melon, guava, and apple.
