Edinburgh Gin debuts gift set
By Alice BrookerIan Macleod Distillers has unveiled a limited edition Discovery Pack by Edinburgh Gin containing its Classic, Seaside, 1670 and Cannonball expressions.
The new gift pack is intended to capture ‘Edinburgh’s tales of wonder, told through taste’. Retailing for RRP £45 (US$48.55), every pack contains a 200ml bottle of each expression.
The Edinburgh Gin Classic clocks in at 43% ABV, boasting notes of pine buds, mulberries and lavender.
The Seaside bottling also rests at 43% ABV, and is said to encapsulate the ‘wonder’ of the shoreline near the city.
Meanwhile, also sitting at 43% ABV, the 1670 gin was inspired by the capital city’s Royal Botanic Gardens, and botanicals emerged from a ‘treasure trove’ of more than 14,000 plants that are grown there.
Finally, the Cannonball gin presents the highest ABV at 57.2%, said to give a peppery, smooth navy-strength gin.
In August, the brand introduced two new flavours to its ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail range: the Negroni Spritz and Lemon Spritz. The two new flavours joined three other RTD canned cocktails, Rhubarb & Ginger with Ginger Ale, Gin & Tonic, and Raspberry Gin Fizz.
In other gin-related news, famous chef Gordon Ramsey’s namesake gin, created in partnership with Scottish producer Eden Mill, saw its social media advertisements banned recently.
