Coors Whiskey Co debuts American malt blend
By Miona MadsenThe whiskey arm of brewing giant Molson Coors has launched its first namesake blended American malt whiskey expression.

Coors Whiskey Co Blended American Malt Whiskey is an eight-year-old limited edition and the inaugural release under the brand name.
The release is said to celebrate Coors’ malting heritage of nearly 150 years.
Susie McInerney, senior marketing manager at Coors Spirits Co, said: “Most whiskey stories begin in the barrel. Ours begins with the grain. Malt has been part of the Coors story since the earliest days of the company, rooted in long-standing malting tradition.
“This release represents a natural evolution for Coors Whiskey Co and is proof that what goes into our whiskey – down to the grain – makes all the difference, and creates something truly differentiated in the category.”
Crafted using Coors and Colorado malts, the eight-year-old blended whiskey offers aromas of fresh plum, crunchy cookie, fused with cinnamon raisin bread, cooked Granny Smith apples, and dried fruit.
The palate displays notes of pear, salted melon, stone fruit, lightly smoked dark chocolate-covered cherry, rich toffee, peat, and spice.
Limited to 1,200 bottles, the whiskey has an ABV of 55.25% and a suggested retail price of US$79.99.
It will be available to purchase in Colorado and Illinois ahead of Father’s Day on 21 June.
The namesake whiskey joins the company’s portfolio alongside Barmen 1873 and Five Trail Blended American Whiskey. Under Coors Spirits Co, the company also owns Blue Run Spirits.
Earlier this year, Molson Coors agreed to purchase Atomic Brands, the company behind Monaco Cocktails.
