Barcelona summer nights inspire Gin MG release
By Miona MadsenSpanish producer MG Destilerías has added its first permanent addition to the Gin MG core range: Brisa, a coastal lifestyle-inspired expression.

The launch aims to attract a new generation of consumers with ‘a more inviting and accessible style’ of gin, while strengthening the brand’s presence in the standard segment.
Inspired by the soft sea breeze of Barcelona’s summer nights, Gin MG Brisa is said to embody the city’s soul and utilises locally sourced botanicals such as Spanish tangerine, pine, fig, and bay leaf.
On the palate, the gin features vibrant citrus and herbal notes, with subtle saline nuances as a tribute to the maritime essence of Barceloneta, the city’s old fishermen’s quarter.
Manu Giró, CEO of MG Destilerías, said: “With Brisa, we wanted to capture the true spirit of the coast of Barcelona – its energy, authenticity, creativity and its openness to the world – while delivering a fresh, aromatic profile that is both more approachable on the palate than a classic London Dry and more accessible than other gins in this space.”
Gin MG Brisa can be enjoyed in a G&T or in a signature Coastal Basil Smash with pine or green Chartreuse liqueur.
Visually, the expression captures the spirit’s coastal character with a transparent bottle and a contemporary label.
Brisa is now available across Europe in both on-trade and off-trade channels, with a focus on Spain, Italy, and Greece.
Gin MG Brisa is bottled at 40% ABV and has a recommended retail price of €14.90 (US$17) for a 700ml bottle. It is also available in a gift set with four branded cups.
Earlier this month, MG Destilerías’ Le Tribute leveraged its credentials in mixers to enter the non-alcoholic aperitivo market with Bitter Aperitivo.
