Brother’s Bond releases Cask Strength Bourbon
Bourbon brand Brother’s Bond, founded by Vampire Diaries stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, has launched a cask strength bottling as its first limited edition expression.
The brand was launched in 2021, and by the end of the year was the most followed celebrity spirits brand on the internet.
The new Original Cask Strength Bourbon is available through ReserveBar from today (20 July).
“When we were creating the Brother’s Bond Original Cask Strength, we knew that we wanted to make a smooth Bourbon with big flavours,” said Wesley.
“As an unfiltered and uncut Bourbon, we feel our cask-strength is complex enough to satisfy the whiskey aficionado, but will also entice the whiskey novice to begin delving deeper into the whiskey world.”
The latest addition to the portfolio is distilled and aged in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and is undiluted, unfiltered, and uncut.
The liquid is a limited release of 70 of Brother’s Bond Bourbon barrels, offering aromas of ripe banana, walnut, leather, subtle smoke and lingering rye spices that lead to a ‘luxurious’ and balanced finish.
“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has welcomed us into the whiskey industry. Our ever-growing love for fine quality spirits inspired us to create the Brother’s Bond Original Cask Strength Bourbon,” commented Somerhalder.
“As we continue to expand our portfolio, we want consumers to be assured that they are getting an ultra-premium liquid that will exceed their expectations.”
Original Cask Strength Bourbon clocks in at 57.9% ABV, and retails for RRP US$79.99.
Earlier this year, the brand launched an Earth Day Instagram challenge, called #RemodelTheBottle.
Brother’s Bond is known for its work towards sustainability: in November 2021, the brand founders donated US$50,000 to non-profit organisation Kiss the Ground, which seeks to reverse climate change through regenerative agriculture. The brand has also committed to using regeneratively farmed grain to craft its Bourbon.
