Stauning to host World Whisky Forum

Danish whisky producer Stauning will host the fourth World Whisky Forum at its distillery on Denmark’s west coast from 21-23 June.

Guests will be able to tour the Stauning distillery

The three-day event will bring together some of the top whisky experts and drinks influencers from around the world to provide insights, thoughts and discussions into the possibilities and challenges the global whisky industry faces.

“At the World Whisky Forum we embrace the history of whisky, along with the ways in which new world whisky is influencing the market and challenging the status quo of the more traditional spirits in the category,” commented Dave Broom, co-founder of World Whisky Forum.

“We believe that embracing these developments and challenges is best done together, which is why we can’t wait to welcome everyone back together in Stauning, after what has been a challenging couple of years for the industry”

Created by Broom alongside Jan Groth and Ingvar Ronde, the World Whisky Forum provides a platform for those passionate about the spirit to share thoughts and experiences from all perspectives.

Forums are held every 18 months and are designed to create new contact points between whisky makers to promote creative development within the whisky business and reunite the world of whisky.

Guests attending the 2022 forum will be able to enjoy a host of activities over the three days including panel discussions moderated by Broom, which cover various topics focussing on sustainability. Speakers will include bar owner Ryan ‘Mr Lyan’ Chetiyawardana, Peter Kreiner, CEO of Noma restaurant, and James Brosnan, director of research at the Scotch Whisky Research Institute.

Other activities in the schedule include a tour of the Stauning distillery, looking at the progressive methods used to produce its ‘innovative’ whiskies, as well as tastings of various whiskies from around the world.

Guests will also be able to enjoy lunches hosted at the distillery and dinner in top local restaurants.

Alex Munch, co-founder of Stauning said: “It’s an honour to be given the opportunity to host the fourth World Whisky Forum. We can’t wait to welcome fellow whisky experts and distillers to our home in West Denmark and discuss what is the most important thing to us all, the world of whisky.

“At Stauning we have one of the most innovative and progressive whiskies on the market and it’s a great opportunity to showcase our brand and hopefully inspire other producers in the industry.”

As well as in-person tickets, virtual tickets will also be available for the first time this year.

Tickets can be purchased from World Whisky Forum’s website for €850 (US$903.25) for in-person attendance or €85 (US$90.33) for virtual tickets.
