Ron Carúpano redesigns Legendario rum
Venezuelan brand Ron Carúpano has given its 25-year-old rum a refreshed look, featuring a new bottle and case.
Developed by design company Concepto Studios, the new bottle is engraved with gold molten letters, featuring a matching gold cap. The case is made from varnished wood, while its interior is velvet-covered.
In 2020, the brand refreshed its portfolio with a new design, according to Lucia Alliegro, marketing director for Ron Carúpano. The brand’s Prestige range was given a new look.
The Legendario bottling is said to be the only single barrel 25-year-old Venezuelan rum in the world.
The rum has undergone sealed ageing in white American oak barrels. Boasting lasting flavours on the palate of black fruits, nuts and toasted almonds, candied fruits, raisins, dates and chocolate, the liquid clocks in at 40% ABV.
The brand recommend the 750ml Legendario bottling served from a balloon glass, or with a single ice cube. There is a yearly batch production of 500 numbered crystal decanters, which are presented in suede bags.
Last year, the brand married rum, art and technology for its Art, Innovation and Rum project, asking five Venezuelan artists to transform bottles of its Legendario expression into works of art.
