Spirit Master: Wattshot
By Melita KielyWith summer just around the corner, gin is once again set to be the spirit of the season – and award-winning Wattshot is sure to shake up the category.

Designed to be the world’s first gin shot, Wattshot has already won two prestigious medals from The Global Spirits Masters blind-tasting series.
Stuart Logan is the founder of the brand, which takes its name from the ‘electric sensation’ Wattshot delivers on the palate. A secret herbal ingredient gives a unique dimension to the gin, creating a ‘cool tingle’ that ‘illuminates the taste buds’.
Wattshot was awarded the highest accolade in The Gin Masters 2021, securing a Master medal for its flagship bottling.
The judges celebrated Wattshot’s “beautiful cherry blossom aroma and a slight floral note”, which led to a “lovely hint of warm spice, and something akin to ripe peaches/apricot” on the palate.
More recently, the gin received a coveted Silver medal in The DB & SB Spring Blind Tasting, once again enjoyed for its “gentle cherry blossom” notes and “soft, warming spice”.
Bottled at 37.5% ABV, Wattshot retails for £34.90 (US$46) per 700ml bottle.
New partnerships
Made in France, Wattshot is expanding its global footprint. The gin brand has recently teamed up with Bright Drinks, which specialises in new and entrepreneurial brands to help them grow in the UK.
Furthermore, Wattshot has launched a new website, which can be found at www.wattshot.club. UK-based customers will be able to buy Wattshot gin directly from the new site.
The gin brand is already available in Germany via amazon.de and tastillery.com, as well as 25 additional countries through urban-drinks.com.
