With in-person shows having returned to the agenda last year, we look forward to the events that will be packing in spirits lovers around the globe in 2022.
While the past two years have seen trade shows cancelled or moved online, many of the spirits industry’s most beloved events are set to go ahead in person this year.
From London’s top cocktail festival to a meeting of the travel retail minds, we’ve rounded up 2022’s most exciting spirits-focused happenings.

14‐16 February 2022
One of France’s biggest drinks shows will return to Paris for the first time since February 2020 when the inaugural event was held. Spirits will play a key role, with the return of the Be Spirits area, which will cover 20% more floor space than before, and showcase more than 80 spirits exhibitors.
Vinexpo America/Drinks America

Organiser Vinexposium will host two new trade events in the US in March, which will divide wine and spirits and be held jointly in New York City. Described as a ‘repositioning’ of Vinexpo New York, Vinexpo America will focus exclusively on wine. Drinks America has been created because of the continuing rise in consumption of spirits and ready‐to‐drink beverages.
IAADFS Summit of the Americas
10‐13 April 2022
The IAADFS Summit of the Americas will return as an in‐person show in West Palm Beach, Florida, after the 2021 fair was held virtually. The 2022 event will cover a range of topics crucial to the travel retail and duty free industry, while providing a variety of networking opportunities.
TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference
9‐12 May 2022
After a successful virtual show in Hainan, China, in 2021, the TFWA’s Asia conference will be back in a physical format in Singapore for 2022. TFWA president Jaya Singh said at the time of the announcement: “Singapore has long proved to be the perfect location to bring the Asia Pacific industry together, and we are working very closely with our hosts and partners in the country to ensure a safe and enjoyable event.”
15-17 May 2022
The flagship Prowein fair will make its comeback in 2022 after a two‐year absence due to the pandemic. The event has been rescheduled from March to May, and will be bigger than ever, with three additional halls, bringing the total number to 13. The fair is set to welcome more than 5,500 exhibitors, including more than 150 spirits exhibitors. Hall 7 will boast the fair’s trend show, with the theme ‘same but different’ set for 2022.
Bar Convent Brooklyn

Bar Convent Brooklyn has become a key event for the US bar world, with on‐trade professionals, buyers, distributors and spirits producers coming together to learn about new trends, techniques and products in the domestic and global markets.

The organisers of Bar Convent Berlin and Bar Convent Brooklyn staged their first show in Brazil in 2019. Now, the next São Paulo event is due to take place in June 2022 after it was postponed in 2021. The world’s leading cocktail festival has been an unmissable event for the bar world since it was established in 2002. Next year, Tales of the Cocktail will celebrate its 20th anniversary, and it’s sure to be packed to the brim with top‐notch tastings, parties and educational seminars.
TFWA World Exhibition & Conference
2‐6 October 2022
A key event in the travel retail calendar is the TFWA’s flagship fair in Cannes, France, in autumn 2022. The 2021 event welcomed thousands of visitors and more than 270 exhibitors. During the event, The Spirits Business will also host its Vodka and Travel Retail Beach Party to celebrate the winners from The Vodka Masters and The Travel Retail Masters 2022 during an evening of cocktails and canapés at an exclusive beach bar venue.
London Cocktail Week
One of the leading events for the on‐trade is London Cocktail Week, which has been held as a month‐long event since 2020. A wristband to the event offers cocktails at a discounted price and festivalgoers can expect masterclasses, pop‐ups, bar takeovers, cocktail dinners and parties across London. Details of the 2022 event will be revealed in the coming months.
Bar Convent Berlin

After a successful 2021 event in new venue Berlin Expo Center City, Germany’s capital city is set to welcome the leading lights of the bar world for its 2022 instalment in October. The show is expected to become bigger this year with additional halls, and the ‘City Life Spirits’ concept, which saw events take place across Berlin, is also set to return for 2022.

Celebrating the highest achievements across Retail & Tourism, Sustainability & Innovation, Culture & Tourism, Product & Personality across the spirits industry, The SB Awards will see representatives from the brands making waves in the market come together for the announcement of the 2022 champions.
The Wine & Spirits Show

The Global Spirits Masters Awards Lunch
The Spirits Business and The Global Spirits Masters teams will come together to host the annual awards lunch this December, where the personalities behind the medal‐winning brands from The Global Spirits Masters Competitions 2022 will be invited to collect their awards and enjoy an afternoon of celebrations with lunch and wine in a central London venue. Last year’s event took place at the The Crypt of St Etheldreda’s in Farringdon, London.
