Elixir Distillers creates whisky liqueur
By Melita KielyWhisky blender Elixir Distillers is moving into liqueurs with the launch of Highland Nectar.

Highland Nectar infuses Scotch whisky with cinnamon, ginger, bitter orange, lemon oil and vanilla.
Inspired by Highland Scotch whisky, the liqueur has aromas of cinnamon-and-golden-syrup biscuits, lemon, cloves and eucalyptus, leading to hints of allspice, candied ginger and orange peel on the palate.
The finish is said to bring powdered cinnamon and mulled chai cider.
Highland Nectar will be available to purchase from November through The Whisky Exchange, followed by select retailers.
Bottled at 35% ABV, Highland Nectar will be priced at RRP £24.95 (US$35) per 500ml bottle.
Pernod Ricard acquired The Whisky Exchange in September. The sale included Whisky.Auction and London Cocktail Week – the latter of which is currently holding a month-long event throughout October.
