Spanish drinks producer Zamora Company has added two new variants to its Licor 43 ready-to-drink (RTD) range.

Cocktail 43 Milk, and Cocktail 43 Nitro and Coffee have been created for the German market

Cocktail 43 Milk, and Cocktail 43 Nitro and Coffee have been made specifically for the German market.

Cocktail 43 Milk is said to offer sweet, spice and vanilla flavours, while Cocktail 43 Nitro and Coffee combines Licor 43 with Arabica coffee. The latter expression has a built-in nitro ‘widget’ to give the drink a ‘smooth and silky’ foam when the can is opened.

Each expression sits at 10% ABV and comes in a 250ml can. Both variants will be available in the German off-trade, priced at €2.69 (US$3) each.

Julian Fernandez, global marketing and innovation director for spirits at Zamora Company, said: “Innovation and rising to meet consumer demand have both been in Licor 43’s DNA throughout its 75 years.

“In Germany, the Licor 43 and Milk serve accounts for 50% of its cocktail pours, so we wanted to bring to people a drink they recognise in a totally convenient format.

“Licor 43 and coffee has been a feature of our brand going back to the 1950s and is a very popular combination in countries around the world: so our innovation is a Nitro and Coffee RTD, which creates the signature foam on the serve when poured into a glass.

“Quality, convenience, innovation and adaptation to the consumer’s needs – the four pillars which lie at the heart of Licor 43’s legacy, which we celebrate in 2021.”

Licor 43 Original is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.

Licor 43 first moved into RTDs in June 2020 with the launch of its Cocktail 43 Fresco series.

Last month, Zamora Company has expanded its Cocktail 43 Fresco ready-to-drink line with a new apple variant.

As the RTD category continues to grow, earlier this year The Spirits Business compiled a list of 10 canned cocktails worth checking out. Our editorial team also revealed their favourite RTDs in our Booze Banter series.
