In June 2020, liqueur brand Licor 43 unveiled Cocktail 43 Fresco as its first range of ready-to-drink (RTD) products. The line debuted with two flavours, lemon and berry.

The range of ‘fizzy fusions’ is made by combining Licor 43 Original with real fruit juices.

Like the rest of the range, the new apple variant has an ABV of 5.6%.

“Cocktail 43 Fresco was developed to meet growing demand for delicious low-alcohol options from quality, natural ingredients in a convenient format,” said Julian Fernandez, global marketing and innovation director at Zamora Company.

“In 75 years of production, Licor 43 has been at the forefront of rising to consumer demand whether that’s with our (at the time) ground-breaking advertising, or with the launch of our totally vegan horchata ‘cream’ version, so we’re thrilled to be able to add a third family member to a brand which is going from strength to strength.”

According to IWSR 2020 data cited by the brand, the RTD category grew globally by 6.1% from 2009 to 2019, and is forecast to rise by 21.8% by 2024.

Priced at RRP €2.49 (US$3), the Cocktail 43 Fresco range is currently available in the Netherlands and select markets.

Zamora Company has an annual turnover of €196 million (US$233.2m). The company also produces Martin Miller’s Gin, Villa Massa Limoncello and Yellow Rose whiskey.

In March this year, Zamora added a coffee-flavoured RTD to its Licor 43 range to celebrate the liqueur brand’s 75th anniversary.
