6. Lemon-Do

Soft drinks heavyweight CocaCola made its first foray into the world of alcoholic beverages last year, with the launch of a low-abv shōchū-based ready-to-drink brand, called Lemon-Do.

The range is still available exclusively in the Kyushu area of Japan and comprises three canned expressions – Lemon-Do Teiban Lemon, Lemon-Do Salty Lemon and Lemon-Do Honey Lemon.

It was inspired by Japanese pubs and the Lemon Sour, which was the origin of popular Japanese beverage Chūhai. To create Lemon-Do, a whole lemon is grated and soaked in alcohol before being mixed into the drink.

Each expression boasts a different alcohol-lemon composition. Lemon-Do Teiban Lemon is made up of 10% lemon juice and 5% alcohol; Lemon-Do Salty Lemon has a composition of 7% lemon juice and 7% alcohol; and Lemon-Do Honey Lemon features 7% lemon juice and 3% alcohol.
