London bartenders create collection of agave distillates
Leading London bartenders have partnered to create a range of agave distillates and sugarcane aguardientes, called El Destilado.

Alex Wolpert, of East London Liquor Company, and Michael Sager and Marcis Dzelzainis, both of Sager + Wilde, have released the first collection under the new El Destilado brand, comprising 11 agave distillates and two sugarcane aguardientes.
The range is available to purchase now through Speciality Drinks, and will be available to purchase from December via The Whisky Exchange, priced between £35 (US$45) and £120 (US$155) per 500ml bottle.
The trio was inspired by their time visiting Latin America and hopes to create spirits collections that “express the terroir” of the places and producers they met along the way.
Batches range from 70 to 420 bottles. El Destilado creative director Charlie McKay designed the packaging.
Each distillate in the first batch has been sourced from mezcaleros working outside the confines of Mexico’s Mezcal Regulatory Council.
