Brown-Forman bolsters TR whiskey line for IAADFS

Brown-Forman Global Travel Retail has launched recent brand development Coopers’ Craft and Woodford Reserve Rye into the channel ahead of the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas.

Coopers’ Craft, Brown-Forman’s first new Bourbon brand in 20 years, will now be available in GTR

Coopers’ Craft was announced in July 2016, the first Bourbon launch from Brown-Forman in 20 years. The whiskey is described as soft and light, an “easy drinking Bourbon ideal for simple cocktails”.

The 41% abv whiskey was developed to celebrate the company’s 70 years of barrel-making – Brown-Forman is the biggest firm to own and operate barrel-making cooperages for spirits.

Woodford Reserve Rye, the third permanent expression from the brand, was first launched in January 2015.

When developing the liquid, master distiller Chris Morris used a mash bill containing 53% rye to build upon the spice characteristics of the original Woodford Reserve.

“The demand for whiskies, particularly American whiskies, plays into the strength of Brown-Forman,” said Monte Wilson, director of Americas and global key accounts for Brown-Forman Global Travel Retail.

“We feel that Woodford Reserve Rye and Coopers’ Craft will be terrific additions to our global travel retail portfolio.”

Both expressions join Woodford Reserve Bourbon and Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, plus the Jack Daniel’s portfolio and Old Forester in the Brown-Forman Global Travel Retail American whiskey offer.

The company also offers product from recent acquisitions The BenRiach Distillery Company and Slane Irish Whiskey in the channel.

The  IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas will take place at the Orlando World Center Marriott, Florida, from 26-29 March.
