Wemyss Malts appoints Asia sales manager

Independent spirits bottler Wemyss Malts has named Jason Pan as Asia Pacific sales manager as it seeks to grow its whisky and gin brands in the market.

Wemyss Malts has appointed Jason Pan as Asia Pacific sales manager

Pan, who will be based in Taiwan, joins the team in January 2017. He brings to the role extensive spirits sales and marketing experience and has previously held positions with Morrison Bowmore, Brown-Forman, Diageo and Pernod Ricard.

“I am delighted to welcome Jason to the company,” said William Wemyss, managing director of Wemyss Malts.

“The Asia Pacific region represents a great growth opportunity for our whiskies and gin brands and Jason’s local market presence will enable us to strengthen our relationships with current distributors, as well as building our presence in new markets.

“Jason’s appointment has also enabled realignment of the responsibilities of our existing two regional sales managers, Jacque Sutherland and Ginny Boswell, who will now be able to spend additional time on our key markets in the UK and Europe.”

Last year, Wemyss Malts announced changes to its marketing team, including the creation of a new brand manager role for Darnley’s View Gin.
