Purity Vodka appoints president and CEO
Sweden-based Purity Vodka has named David Szydlik as its new president and chief executive officer – the third person to take over the position in less than three years.
Purity Vodka has had three CEOs in less than three years
Szydlik takes over the role from Brian Citron, who was named CEO eight months ago.
Prior to Citron, the departure of the vodka brand’s former president and CEO John Glaser for unspecified reasons was announced in December 2014.
For the last eight years, Szydlik has held multiple roles at Pernod Ricard, including business unit director southwest and national director of sales operations and planning, and his most recent role as director of chains.
“The board of directors is delighted that David has joined Purity Vodka at a very exciting time, his experience and expertise will propel the growth and success of Purity Vodka as a key player in the vodka category,” said Alf Tonnesson, chairman of Purity Vodka.
“I am excited by the opportunity to work alongside our distributor network and dedicated team that has created great momentum behind Purity Vodka,” said Szydlik. “We believe that the 34 distillations and organic ingredients that comprise our Purity Vodka give our consumers an exceptional vodka experience.”
Prior to joining Pernod Ricard, Szydlik worked in multiple management roles for Molson Coors and Coca-Cola Enterprises.
Purity Vodka was created by master blender Thomas Kuuttanen. It is produced in small batches and distilled 34 times using a still made from copper and gold.
