Purity Vodka has appointed Brian Citron its new president and CEO
Citron has been responsible for developing the brand’s US sales since 2013, and with the move replaces former CEO Andy Glaser who left the role at the end of 2014.
“It has been a privilege to be a part of building Purity Vodka, and I look forward to leading the team in our next phase of growth,” said Citron.
“Purity Vodka’s exceptional taste and heritage is well-positioned to meet consumers’ growing desire for uniquely crafted and authentic brands.”
Alf Tonnesson, Purity Vodka chairman, added: “The board of directors recognises the strong sales growth that Purity Vodka has undergone over the last four years, within an increasingly competitive category, under Brian Citron’s leadership.
“We are confident that Brian’s vision for the brand will continue to establish Purity Vodka as a leading player in the ultra-premium category.”
Prior to joining Purity Vodka, Citron served as vice president of business for Belvedere Vodka at Moët Hennessy USA, and held sales and marketing positions at Heineken USA and Fiji Water.
Purity Vodka was created by master blender Thomas Kuuttanen, and is produced in small batches and distilled 34 times using a still made from copper and gold. The brand celebrated its 100th gold medal from international blind tasting competitions in October 2015.
