Kate Hudson fronts Campari Calendar 2016

Hollywood actress Kate Hudson has been unveiled as the face of the 2016 Campari Calendar, starring as two separate characters in the brand’s BitterSweet campaign.

Almost Famous actress Kate Hudson is the new face of Campari

Designed to get consumers to think about whether they prefer bitter or sweet flavours, the theme for the upcoming iconic calendar was inspired by the US presidential election, which was used a “metaphor for the duality of two opposing sides”.

Kate Hudson, who won a Golden Globe and Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Almost Famous, said: “I was honoured to be invited to shoot the 2016 Campari Calendar.

“This year’s theme plays off the upcoming election, which is the perfect metaphor for the many Campari flavour choices.

“I loved working with Michelangelo to create two distinctive characters embodying bitter and sweet.”

Capturing the duality of bitter and sweet was fashion photographer Michelangelo Di Battista, who shot Hudson’s pictures for the 17th edition of the calendar.

“Celebrating and personifying the flavour complexity of Campari and building on the bittersweet trend makes this year’s calendar unique,” said Bob Kunze-Concewitz, chief executive officer of Gruppo Campari.

“Each month embodies the different profiles Campari embodies, alongside Kate Hudson’s incredible talent and ability to switch from approachable, welcoming and sensual to audacious and seductive.

“Michelangelo’s beautiful photography and strong styling brings to life all of the different elements with ease and elegance.

“With all this in mind, we’re very much looking forward to unveiling it later in the year.”

Campari selected James Bond Casino Royale actress Eva Green to star in the 2015 calendar, while Kill Bill actress Uma Thurman fronted the 2014 edition.
