Tequila & Mezcal Fest prepares to return to UK

The UK’s first and only festival dedicated to Tequila and mezcal is readying to make its second annual appearance, promising “the greatest ever agave extravaganza”.

Tequila & Mezcal Fest is readying to return to the UK, with events in both London and Manchester

Returning to London on 19 and 20 September, Tequila & Mezcal Fest aims to educate consumers on how to drink the Mexican spirits, banning lime, salt and novelty sombreros at the door.

Featuring agave-based spirits from some of Mexico’s finest producers all under one roof, the event will take place in London’s Old Spitalfields Market and will roll out for the first time in the North West at Liverpool’s Maritime Museum on 8 and 9 August.

Some of the UK’s best bartenders will hold master classes on the art of Mexican cocktail making, while the event will also showcase a variety of Mexican street food.

Special guests at the festival include Tomas Estes, Tequila ambassador for Europe, who will lead educational blind tastings.

Last year’s inaugural event in London was hailed an “unprecedented” success, welcoming around 1,000 visitors.

Eduardo Gomez Resediz, founder and director of Tequila & Mezcal Fest, said: “This year is a special year for Tequila & Mezcal Fest as it is ‘The Year of Mexico and UK’.”

“To celebrate our countries partnering we will be extending the love throughout the country, stopping both in London and Liverpool, and allowing the chance for Tequila and mezcal fans around to celebrate alongside us.”
