Big Bottom expands Port cask whiskey range
Big Bottom Distilling is expanding its range of American whiskey finished in Port casks with the launch of Barlow Trail, Port Cask Finish Whiskey.
Big Bottom Barlow Trail, Port Cask Finish has launched in the US
Set to launch in the US, new release is a blend of three whiskeys with Bourbon as its base, finished in tawny Port casks to give a “unique flavour profile”.
Notes of sweet berry and citrus are said to be prominent on the nose, leading to berries and a hint of peppery spice on the palate giving a “smooth, rich and malty” quality.
“Our customers are big fans of our finished Bourbon, so it was a natural decision to finish the blended whiskey in the Port casks,” commented Ted Pappas, owner of Big Bottom Distilling.
“After tasting this beautiful whiskey, I have no doubt our Port finished Bourbon lovers will embrace it.”
Big Bottom Barlow Trail, Port Cask Finish will retail for an RRP of US$37.95.
At the start of 2015, Big Bottom Distilling announced the launch of its first gin distilled in-house.
