Wemyss Malts launches NAS blended Scotch

Wemyss Malts is expanding its premium blended Scotch whisky portfolio with a no age statement addition to its Lord Elcho brand.

Wemyss Malts has released Lord Elcho – a no age statement premium blended Scotch whisky

Lord Elcho was originally released in 2012 as a 15-year-old blended Scotch but is now also available without an age statement.

Blended from a selection of malt and grain whisky, Lord Elcho is bottled at 40% abv and is described as “full and soft, with waves of chewy caramel and a warm spiciness”.

The brand is named after Wemyss Malts founder’s 18th century ancestor who was stripped of his title for his role in the Jacobite uprising in 1745.

“The continued growth of Scotch whisky across the world has encouraged us to launch our second entrant into the blended Scotch segment,” said William Wemyss, founder and managing director of Wemyss Malts.

“We expect to bring interest from new export markets with our second Lord Elcho whisky. This excellent whisky is presented in high quality gift packaging.”

Lord Elcho is currently available in the UK, France, Holland, Sweden, Hong Kong, UAE and Switzerland at an RRP of £24 – £25 per 700ml bottle, and will be rolled out across further domestic markets soon.
