Super Lyan alum to open Slowpour in Liverpool
By Lauren BowesCarey Hanlon and Caitlin Waugh will launch Slowpour on Liverpool’s Bold Street in the first week of September.

Hanlon’s CV includes stints at London bars Callooh Callay and Swift. She was also part of the opening team at Super Lyan in Amsterdam.
Meanwhile, Waugh has made a name for herself at some of Liverpool’s best venues, including Sister Ray and the now-closed Present Company.
Slowpour will be located in the basement of speciality wine and coffee shop Ropes & Twines.
“We called it Slowpour because we’re not about rushing anything – not the drinks, not the service, not the experience,” said Hanlon. “Every moment matters to us and we’re putting care into the creation of the drinks, the space and the experience for every guest.”
Open from Wednesday to Sunday, the bar will have a host of partnerships that align with its ethos, including with London-based distillery 58 and Co.
It will also feature a bespoke sound system from Manchester independent manufacturer Turn End Audio.
“Slowpour is about creating a space for people to feel genuinely appreciated,” added Waugh. “From those who create the liquid, those who pour it, and those who drink it.”
Liverpool is also home to Bar Glue, which was shortlisted for Best New International Cocktail Bar at this year’s Spirited Awards.
