Finnish Long Drink opens applications for steamy $10k gig

Finnish canned pre-mixed producer The Long Drink Company is on the hunt for a ‘director of sweat equity’, with the successful applicant receiving the opportunity to embark on a US$10,000 ‘sauna hop’ across the US.

Serious sauna bragging rights are up for grabs

The role involves touring the US for a week in search of the country’s most fun, inclusive, and Finnish-inspired saunas.

Described as ‘part content creator, part cultural critic and full-time sauna enthusiast’, the director of sweat equity will be tasked with sharing their journey on social media, all the while while sipping on Finnish Long Drink and giving the best saunas a ‘Long Drink Sauna Approval’ badge.

Alongside the US$10,000 prize and all-expenses-paid travel, other job perks include a year’s supply of Finnish Long Drink, a ‘very official’ director of sweat equity badge, and ‘serious sauna bragging rights’.

To apply, the brand has invited interested parties to submit their entries on www.thelongdrink.com/sweatequity. Applicants are required to complete a brief questionnaire and upload a 60-second video explaining why they are the best fit for the job.

Candidates must be aged 21 and over, and be comfortable on camera – ‘sometimes in a towel’, the brand added.

Finnish Long Drink co-founder Sakari Manninen said: “There’s a growing obsession with saunas in the US, but things have gotten a little too serious in the heat.

“In Finland, saunas are a place for relaxation, not perfection. Our director of sweat equity will help us spotlight the places that honour that spirit, with a healthy dose of fun.”

Finnish Long Drink launched in 2018 with the aim of bringing Finland’s national drink to the US.

Since its launch, the brand has attracted a number of celebrity backers, including Whiplash actor Miles Teller, who is also a co-owner, alongside Canadian actor Nina Dobrev, professional golfers Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas, Norwegian DJ Kygo, and rapper Shawn Carter, better known as Jay-Z.

The brand’s range includes Traditional, Zero, Strong and Cranberry expressions, plus a peach flavour that was added in March last year.

It is the 10th fastest-growing spirits brand in the world, according to data from The Brand Champions 2025 report.
