The Spirits Business is searching for the drinks industry’s best scribes as part of its annual Alan Lodge Young International Drinks Writer of the Year award.

The award was established to honour The Spirits Business’ late deputy editor, Alan Lodge.

This year, the award has been brought under The Spirits Business Awards umbrella. This year’s awards ceremony will take place at The Underglobe Theatre in London on 13 November, and will be hosted by English comedian Rob Beckett.

Submissions will be accepted until 27 June 2025. This award is free to enter.

Past winners of the award include Eloise Feilden, Millie MillikenFelipe Schrieberg, and Susannah Skiver Barton.

Melita Kiely, editor-in-chief of The Spirits Business, said: “We’re really proud at The Spirits Business to keep this important award going in memory of a talented and greatly missed journalist, Alan Lodge.

“There is a huge amount of writing talent in the international drinks trade, and year after year I’m so impressed by the calibre of entries we receive.

“This is a great opportunity to put the spotlight on your work and expertise – and I am looking forward to reading this year’s entries with our independent judges.”

Submissions should be sent as a URL, PDF or Word document and can be uploaded on The Spirits Business Awards website.
