Bols Around the World seeks 2016 entries
Lucas Bols is seeking “pioneering bartenders” to compete in the ninth edition of its global bartending competition – Bols Around the World: The Bols Genever Edition.
Lucas Bols is seeking the “world’s most visionary bartender”The Dutch liqueurs and genever group has begun its search for the “world’s most visionary bartender” through a genever-centric edition of its annual cocktail competition.
This year the winning bartender will enjoy The Bols Genever Pioneer Around the World Tour, during which they will develop genever knowledge and bartending skills – learning to distill with Lucas Bols’ master distiller in Amsterdam, partaking in masterclasses at Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans, and mastering their ice-carving skills in Japan.
The title winner is required to demonstrate “extensive” Bols Genever knowledge, “experimental drive, courageous spirit and a sense of passion”.
Lucas Bols CEO, Huub van Doorne, said: “Pioneering is at the heart of Bols and dates back to the creation of Bols Genever in 1664. BATW, now in its ninth year, focuses on inspiration and education and provides an environment for bartenders to grow their international network and showcase their talent.”
Online heats take place from November with regional finals in February 2017. The grand final will be held in Amsterdam from 8-10 May 2017 where finalists will showcase their Bols Genever concepts in Bols Genever Street.
