From a UK-based tour about rum to a month-long DJ takeover in the US, the spirits world is not short on fun-filled events.

Equiano Rum’s A Tale of Two Rums tour

What: A whistle-stop UK rum tour
When: 1-2 February
Where: Glasgow, Edinburgh
Global ambassador and co-founder of Equiano Rum Ian Burrell is rounding up his tour today (1 February) and tomorrow (2 February) in Scotland. Providing insight into rum production in Barbados and Mauritius, plus tastings and cocktails, the final two stops will be taking place at Uno Mas, in Edinburgh, and Moskito, in Glasgow, from 2pm-4pm. Bombay Sapphire’s Mediterranean takeover
What: Bombay Sapphire’s Spanish takeover
Where: Alto by San Carlo, London
When: Until 28 February
Bacardi-owned Bombay Sapphire is hosting a terrace takeover with a Spanish twist, inspired by the Murcian citrus in its new gin. With dishes inspired by Mediterranean regions and a host of Bombay Sapphire cocktails, the citrus-themed event is sure to be thriving.

Mob Museum’s pre-Prohibition events
What: Music and cocktails inspired by the 1920s
Where: The Mob Museum, Las Vegas, US
When: 4-27 February
Taking place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in February, the underground distillery inside the mob Museum will be offering a variety of cocktail specials and weekly live music. Guests can attend the fun from 8pm to 12am for free, and enjoy sounds of the jazz age with a roster of musical artists performing across the month. Enjoy with a Rose and Lavender Aviation Anniversary Cocktail in hand.
Valentine’s cocktail and cuisine package
What: Valentine’s feast with a view
When 11-14 February
Where: Gong Bar, The Shard, London
Enjoy some of London’s best views from the windows of Gong bar, along with an extensive cocktail menu and an Asian sharing platter. Drinks include the fragrant Pink Azul, made with Ocho Blanco Tequila, Campari, rose and lavender. For those wishing to take the experience home, the Asian-inspired Love Potion bottled cocktail is also available from the venue, which includes Courvoisier Cognac, Havana Club rum, sake and a ‘flash of gold’.

Bar 31’s chalet pop-up
What: Cocktails chalet-style
Where: Bar 31, The Shard, London
When: 11-28 February
Cosy outdoor wooden chalets will welcome guests at Bar 31, which will be temporarily renamed Hütte 31 for its wintry pop-up. Faux snow, soft blankets and, of course, a selection of ‘love cocktails’ can be bought by guests. Feast on traditional Austrian delicacies from Nuernberger sausage rolls and chicken schnitzel, or sip on a selection of serves including the Flamey Viola, with watermelon liqueur, Ketel One vodka, fresh apple and Prosecco. The Mr Wild, with Wild Turkey rye whiskey, Maker’s Mark Bourbon, fresh orange, lime and honey, is also recommended by the venue.

Quaglino’s Valentine’s cocktails
What: A Valentine’s night of cocktails and cuisine
Where: Quaglino’s restaurant, St James, London
When: 14 February
Quaglino’s exclusive Valentine’s menu awaits those wishing to mark Cupid’s day in style. The restaurant is offering up luxurious cuisine and expertly created cocktails with a background of live music. Serves include the Parfait D’Amour with a citrus kumquat twist and Japanese cherry blossom notes; or the Bee My Honey, with coconut-oil-washed Seven Hills gin, pear eau-de-vie, and honey syrup.
Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2022
What: Drinks trade show
Where: Paris, France
When: 14-16 February
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Vinexpo Paris fair will be held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in France.The event is expected to receive more than 2,800 exhibitors this month.
Welcoming distributors, restaurateurs, wine merchants, importers, wholesalers, bartenders and sommeliers from across the globe, the trade show is a staple event in the industry diary.
To attend the fair, visitors must have proof of vaccination and will be required to wear a face covering. Digital access badges are preferred for entry and an enhanced cleaning process will be implemented in every area throughout the show.
Teeling’s online tasting
What: Rare single malt whiskey tasting
Where: Online
When: 17 February, 7pm GMT
Irish whiskey producer Teeling will host its ’30 and Thriving’ virtual event this month, with the chance to try its 30- and 32-year-old single malts, plus an unreleased expression that has also been bottled at 32 years old. Join and taste the bottlings from the comfort of your own home for €50 (US$56.30). A private link will be emailed to consumers, who will receive a tasting pack containing three 15ml whiskey samples, a customised tasting mat and a Teeling nosing glass.
Neverland x Little Kyoto
What: Japanese-inspired pop-up
Where: Neverland bar, London
When: Until May
With prices starting at £10 (US$13.51), cocktail bar Neverland is offering an experience at its Little Kyoto pop-up. The venue aims to transport guests to Japan with sake cocktails, a blossom-filled pagoda and a bonsai Japanese garden. Cocktails were inspired by spring, with a Yuzu and Lychee Martini, Midori Sour, Raspberry Blossom and Kyoto Mule, curated by Neverland’s very own in-house mixologist.
Emporium’s cocktails and DJs
What: Cocktails and DJs spinning
Where: Emporium Arcade Bar, Las Vegas
When: February-March (various dates)
Alongside its signature arcade games, creative cocktails and artistic ambience, Emporium is launching a number of DJ sessions, with shows on Mondays running from 9pm-1am (PST), and Friday and Saturday from 9pm-2am. This month, events will run on the following dates: 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 18, 19, 21, 25, 26, 28 February.
